What is notice?
Rules about pre-lien notices are different from state to state, and project to project. For your state's notice requirements, click here.
In general, lien notices must meet certain form requirements, and oftentimes even use pre-established font sizes and styles! There are also delivery requirements for lien notices.
In general, there are 2 types of notices: Preliminary Notices and Notices of Intent to Lien. Express Lien prepares and files both.
A "Preliminary Notice" must usually be provided to the notified party before work begins on a construction project, or within a certain time frame from when materials and/or materials are first furnished.
A "Notice of Intent to Lien," on the other hand, must usually be provided to the notified party before filing a lien, usually 7-15 days before the filing.
How Express Lien Helps.
Express Lien sends thousands of notices to property owners across the country. Our lien notices are written by attorneys who practice construction law, and they are specficially tailored to your construction project.
By simply filling out a form, Express Lien will prepare and send your notice - and preserve your company's right to lien.
